Pick your own fruits, berries, vegetables and herbs at our farm!

Our farm has always been a place of community gathering and connections and this year we are adding a new twist – a full-on U-pick!

We want you to share in the incredible abundance that this land produces in the most direct way possible. Experience the joy of harvesting a melon fresh off the vine, pulling some carrots from deep in the earth, pulling a fresh ear of corn, or plucking some dark, ripe blueberries bursting with flavor.

From late June through to October, we will have regular U-Pick opportunities, four times per week.

There are 2 ways you can participate:

You can buy a $5 U-pick Day Pass for each time you come to pick or you can buy a $25 Season’s Pass that gives you unlimited visits to the farm throughout the whole season, June to October. Our Season’s Pass also comes with a free nifty insulated produce bag that you can use to carry home your harvest!

When you come to the farm you will be guided down to the field by our host. At our “picking shack” you will see a large list of everything that is currently ready for picking and the price per pound for all produce. All rows will also be clearly marked so you can easily find what you are looking for.  We provide baskets and totes and will be there to help get you going, answer any questions, and make sure that you have an amazing time on the farm!

When you have finished your harvest, bring your totes to the weigh station and we weigh it out for you and total up the cost.  You will be able to pay using cash, debit card, credit card, cheque or e-transfer right at the field. That’s it!

Come and experience the fresh air, the soil, the plants and the wonder of the garden!

Frequently Asked Questions

We get that this U-Pick thing is a little different and will take some time to figure out. Here is some more information that we hope will help!

  • Yes you can! Our farm store at the very end of King Avenue will be open and well-stocked 7 days/week, 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. from June to October.

You can drop by to purchase what you need any time.

  • No – we will have regular set picking times to ensure that we have a diversity and abundance of crops. Stay tuned for our list of regular picking times and sign up here for U-Pick News

  • Yes it is! This is a family friendly activity and we love having kids on the farm. Your children will need to be under your supervision at all and be aware of the need to “tread lightly” and be careful around all of the plants. Your children can help you pick but will likely need your guidance lest you be taking home 80 lbs of zucchini! Overly rambunctious children will be hired on the spot, handed sharp tools and put to work! 🙂

  • Not really but sort of. There is some rough and uneven terrain but there are no steps. Those with limited mobility can park right outside the field fence so the distance to the picking area is short. The space between beds is very tight however (18 inches and less when things grow wide) so not suitable for navigating with wheel chairs or walkers. We will have sitting areas available near the field for those who cannot move down the rows to pick.

  • For this year, we are charging the $5 fee only to those who are 16 years and older. If your group has only one adult, then you are charged only $5. If there are 2 people 16 or older, the fee is $10, etc. Children this year will enter for free.

  • There will be signs down at the picking shack that list the price per pound for all of our crops. If you are not sure how many snap peas make a pound, we can show you! After you have picked a time or two, you will have a good feeling for it.

  • Yes you can! Farm Bonds give you an extra 10% discount so combined with our 10% U-pick discount, that’s a whopping 20% off for some of the freshest, best tasting, most nutritious food you will ever eat!

  • Uh…nope, it doesn’t work that way! Anything you pick you must pay for - unless of course you happen to pick something that is badly damaged or half rotten – gross! We pride ourselves on growing amazing looking and tasting produce and for the U-pick to work, we need our pickers to pay for what they harvest.

  • You can either park out on King Avenue near the farm stand and walk down to the field (about 200 meters) or slowly drive down in your vehicle and park just outside the gate. There will be signs and people to show you where to go.

  • No you don’t. You can come and pick at any of the posted picking times. You may want to try and come early in the picking time to ensure that you find everything you need.

  • No. the picking fee will be added to your bill at the time of checkout.

  • Really well we hope! You just sign up here to buy your $25 season pass and then you can come any time there is a posted picking time. The first time you come, we will give you your handy little U-Pick Season Pass card so that our staff and volunteer know that they don’t need to charge you the $5 fee. We will also give you a produce bag that you can bring with you to transport your produce in.

  • Good question! For this year at least, we are going to offer a 10% discount on all U-pick produce compared to the prices in our farm stand. PLUS – you get to have the amazing experience of harvesting your own veggies and hanging out with farmers and getting exactly the produce that you want, not to mention the INCREDIBLE freshness! How cool is that?

  • Sorry, we cannot allow dogs or other pets down in the production area. When the weather is safe to do so, you can leave them up near the entrance to the property in a well-ventilated car or on a leash tied to the fence if that works for your dog.

  • This of course will change throughout the season and even from day to day. We will do our best to keep you up to speed with what is currently available through our U-pick News (sign-up here), this website and our Facebook page (sign-up here). When you arrive at the field, you will see a list of what is available on that day. You can also look below at our anticipated harvest schedule.

  • How much can you eat!? No, there are no arbitrary limits but we will need to close off picking of certain crops from time to time to give them a chance to “catch up”.

  • Not really – common sense mostly! Drive slowly, park carefully, and respect our neighbours when you come and go. Be mindful that you are coming on to a working farm with lots of activity. Treat all of the plants with care and ask for help if you are not sure of how to pick something or if it is ready or not. Have fun, smile, and hug a farmer!
